Frequently Asked Questions
What does it feel like to be hypnotized?
Hypnosis feels similar to experiencing a daydream. Most people feel relaxed and pleasant, but can also be very active, open their eyes, talk, and show emotions.
What does a hypnosis session look like?
Hypnosis session are pre-scheduled, one-on-one meetings to gain insight from the subconscious mind, remove limiting beliefs, and effect positive changes in your life. We will begin with a discussion of the issue that brings you in, and your goals for hypnotherapy. When you feel that all your questions have been answered and you are comfortable to proceed, we start the hypnosis process. Follow-up sessions (75-90 minutes in length) will be collaboratively tailored to your needs to optimize your progress.
Is hypnosis safe?
Yes. Hypnosis is safe but may be intense as it can bring up unpleasant memories and emotions. This is part of the therapeutic process to change. However, you remain in control during the entire session. Hypnosis is not a state of unconsciousness or sleep, but a state of focused attention while interacting with the subconscious mind to eliminate the root causes of what's holding you back in life.
Clinical hypnosis is not stage hypnosis or what you may see on TV; you will not be asked to do anything you don't want to. You will always play an active role in the process, remain awake the whole time, and can get out of hypnosis at any point.
How many sessions do I need?
Most issues can be resolved in 4-6 sessions. 5-PATH® Hypnosis, a powerful and effective model of hypnosis, consists of five distinct phases. Each phase has a different objective to help clients replace previously accepted (and dysfunctional) beliefs with ones that are consistent with their life goals.
However, each client and situation is different. Many people feel better after the first phase, but getting to the root cause of their troubles may take longer and require additional time. Neuroplasticity (change in the brain) needs time and repetition. Regardless, people who are motivated, ready, and eager are more likely to see results in a shorter amount of time.
Can I be hypnotized?
Yes, you can. It's easy to go into hypnosis because it is a normal state of the mind. You probably already have experienced hypnosis, for example when watching TV, falling in love, reading a book, meditating, driving down the road, scrolling on the phone. Your desire to use hypnosis for your benefit will only enhance the depth and effectiveness of hypnosis.
