Why hypnosis?
Human life and experience is an interactive play of different levels of consciousness: the rational/analytical/critical part of the conscious mind, the instinctual/somatic aspect of the unconscious mind, and the emotional vaults of the subconscious. It is the latter that holds our long-term memories, self-image and beliefs, and determines our behaviors and habits. Hypnosis facilitates access to the subconscious by lowering the threshold of suggestibility so you can replace previously accepted and dysfunctional beliefs with ones that are consistent with your hopes and goals for a joyful life.
Successful therapy of any kind is impossible without keying into the subconscious. Talk therapy has its benefits; sometimes people need to talk, get things off their chest and the ball of change rolling. But unless they engage with the subconscious mind, you can expect, at best, only surface level or temporary changes. Thankfully, the subconscious mind is always listening, that's why traditional psychotherapy can and does make a difference. But why not work directly with the subconscious and shift into higher gear?
What does it feel like to be hypnotized?
Hypnosis feels similar to experiencing a daydream. Most people feel relaxed and pleasant, but can also be very active, open their eyes, and talk.
